How To Fund Your Backpage Account

  • 1. Click buy credits at the bottom of the website when logged in your account.

    Buy credits
  • 2. Next step will take you to a screen shown below

    Create invoice

Here you need to enter the amount of money you'd like to insert in your account. I recommend a small amount for your first time in case you make a mistake, bitcoin payments are permanent. Here's a reminder, also, that money here is in USD and not your shitty CAD so after crying a little over the conversion rate try to ballpark an amount that you have in your bitcoin account. Not to mention that backpage decides its own rate of conversion to/from BTC too so it's not unusual to be a little disappointed here. Select Bitcoin and "Generate Invoice" to then send proceed to sending bitcoins to your account.

  • 3. Making an invoice.

    Receiving invoice address

You see that long string of nonsense? That's a temporary Bitcoin address to which you need to send your bitcoins to fund your account. Here are several warnings before you proceed:

    1. Make sure you send the EXACT amount of BTC requested. From my experience some payments may fall through if they do not match.
    2. If you send a wrong transaction to this address MAKE ANOTHER INVOICE. It's also been my experience that sending that wrong payment may invalidate the invoice.
    3. There could be an expiry. I'm not quite sure how long or if it affects bitcoins that are already in transit but I wouldn't take any chances. Expiring invoice

This is where you load up your Bitcoin wallet. There is a wide selection available and really what it boils down to is your preference. Copy paste the invoice address the invoice gave you and send the exact amount of bitcoins requested.

  • 4. Sending the bitcoins will differ from app to app and will hopefully be straight forward.

Here's what my app looks like: Sending bitcoin

The important part here is that I'm sending in mBTC which is about 0.001BTC each, exactly what my address was asking for.

  • 5. Now, you play the waiting game

and hope for the best because backpage's customer service is practically non-existent. If it worked you should receive a confirmation email much like the one below: Confirmation email

If you didn't receive it within 30 minutes well then you're fucked. Have a great day :)
